Troodos Environmental Centre: park in the square and walk to the centre where you can see the display of fossils, wood samples, indigenous embalmed animals, and collections of butterflies. Also you can watch a short film about the rising of Cyprus from the sea and visit the center’s garden; it has a collection of rocks and plants from the Troodos mountains. Here you can also find information about the unique flora and fauna of Cyprus and about nature trails starting from the Troodos Square. Entrance fee: € 0.85. The centre is open daily including holidays and weekends during March - November, except Easter Sunday. The centre is closed during public holidays and on Saturdays during the months of December to February.
Chionistra (Olymbos Peak): The top of Mount Olympos provide stunning views all around the island. On your way to the top you will come across the Skiers’ Club where you can rent skiing equipments. The club is usually open from December through February, when there is snow.
Persefoni Trail: The starting point is at the south part of the square.
Atalanti Trail: Starts at the Troodos square and ends at Chromio. The trail is 9 km in length and it takes 3-5 hours to walk it.
Artemis Trail: The starting point is about 300 meters from the Troodos – Prodromos - Chionistra junction and goes around Chionistra. It is circular and about 7 km long. It takes 2 to 3 hours to walk it.
