A brief description of the Palaichori village.
Built between hills, the mountainous village of Palaichori is the largest of the Pitsilia valley. It is divided in two by the waters of Serrahis which originate in Papoutsa Mountain. People in the village are involved in making loukánika, loúnza, bacon and pastourmá and in cultivating vineyards for the production of wine and zivania.
What to see:
• Museum of Byzantine Heritage: exhibits religious object. Located behind the square, across the Church of Panagia Chrisopantanassa.

• Church of Transfiguration of the Savior - a UNESCO site: is located on the hill that towers over the village. Each year, a panigiri is held at the church on the 6th of August, the name day of the Church.
• EOKA Struggle Museum: this was the hideout of EOKA fighter Gregoris Afxentiou. It is found to the left of the Church of Panagia Chrisopantanassa.
• Family House of Polykarpos Giorgatzes: contains a display of personal objects used by EOKA fighter Polykarpos Giorgatzes who later served as Minister in the Government of Archbishop Makarios III. It is across the Church of Panagia Chrisopantanassa.
