A brief description of theε Kyperounta village.

Kyperounta, which got its name from ‘kypiros’, a plant that once grew abundant in the area, is a prosperous community which developed quickly in the last few years. Modern buildings line the upper road where one can also find the old Sanatorium (going towards Kato Amiantos) which today serves as a regional hospital for the whole of the Pitsilia valley. Quite amazing is the terraced farming with fruit trees and vines which one can admire while driving from the upper road towards Amiantos. The old village with its old traditional houses is on the lower road.

What to see?

Museum of Traditional Agricultural Life and Nature History: the museum displays tools, farming equipment, pottery and furniture and other objects used in everyday rural life. The museum is located on the main road of the old village, just before the Community Board Office

Timios Stavros: an ecclesiastical museum of icons and other religious objects. It is located near the Community Board Office which is also responsible for opening the museum and the church to visitors. They are there Monday to Friday between 8:00 to 14:00.
