It’s always a pleasure to be served by others. Some people consider eating out a privilege but when it comes to actually ordering, it can be a bit tricky sometimes. Save yourself from getting embarassed by following these steps:
- The first thing you do when you sit at a restaurant is, think of what you want to drink. This will be the waiter’s first question. Always have a second option as backup in case they are out of the first one.
- Don’t rush to say your food option to the waiter until he/she is actually looking at you. You don’t want to come out as the hungry one who’s in a rush. Be polite and wait for the others to order first.
- Also be polite by saying «thank you» and «Please» while ordering. If your first choice of drink isn’t in stock I don’t think the second one won’t be either.
- Be clear from the beginning with your order on what you do or don’t want with it, so there’s no misunderstanding.
- As soon as everybody’s food is at the table, start enjoying your choice.
Some things you should always have on mind and should do at a restaurant are:
- Pictures sometimes fool us so be prepared for a big portion or maybe even a very small one.
- While waiting for the waiter or waitress don’t just sit there in silence waiting for the food. Make casual conversation with those next to you so you get your mind off your hunger.
- Enjoy your time out and make the most of it.
