Archaeological
Museum
:
The museum is located on Griva Digeni Ave.(Telephone: +357 26940215) and consists of 5 rooms filled with artefacts found in the region of Pafos, dating from the Neolithic until the Medieval periods. Among the rich collections of the museum are coins cut in the mints of Pafos, objects from the iron period, a tombstone from ancient Mario inscribed with Cypro-syllabic writing, the statue of Asklepios, Father of Medicine – a marble statue of Aphrodite and exhibits from the Roman and early Christian period. The museum is open all year round, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00 and on Saturday from 10:00 to 13:00. Entrance fee: € 2,00.
Byzantine
Museum
: the museum houses one of the richest collection of Byzantine artefacts such as icons encrusted with gold leaf, a collection of religious books and manuscripts and beautiful wood carvings. It is located next to the Bishopric Headquarters on 5 Andreas Ioannou Street. Telephone +357 26931393. The museum is open all year round, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00 and on Saturday from 10:00 to 13:00. Entrance fee: € 2,00.
Ethnographical
Museum
: the museum is housed in an old traditional house located on 1 Exo Vrysi Str. Like with all old Cypriot houses, the rooms of this 300 years old house are built around the courtyard. The rooms hold exhibits of old traditional costumes, carved wooden furniture, agriculture tools and household objects, looms and woven textiles. The museum is dedicated to the way Cypriots used to live, and it is the private collection of Mr. George Eliades who spent more than half a century collecting the items from all over
