Entrances and hallways adorned with consoles and impressive mirrors. The traditional chandelier has made its comeback. Wallpaper of all textures, colors and designs have paraded into our homes majestically. Oversized table lamps, metallic accessories, mirrored side tables, sculptured rugs – all combined with finesse and true extravagance.
It is exciting, impressive and truly unique! We are now able to dress your grandmothers’ old bed with new colors and accents. We can now take a French Reproduction armchair and combine it with your ultra modern corner sofa. We can have an old dressing table painted vivid fuchsia and displayed in our bathroom.
All rules can be broken. All styles can be combined. Anything can happen!
However, everyone may need a little direction; just to ensure that mistakes will not occur. Speak to your interior designer and arrange a meeting, so he/she can view your space, old pieces of furniture; and specific needs. Every designer will create according to individual needs of clients, according to space requirements and functional necessities.
It is a rule of mine, to place functionality above design – design will follow and take logical paths to create the perfect LIVABLE space.
It is time to put our hearts on show – every piece of furniture that was lying unused in the attic must be dusted and put on show!
Our children’s’ dirty little faces and big goofy smiles, captured in pictures, blown up to poster size canvases, should be hung on our walls.
