Priced at $1.8 Million, Six to be Produced
Elegant, Sexy, Unique and 100% Exotic
The Citroen GT designers were inspired by a vehicle from the video game Gran Turismo
Vive la France! Citroen manufacturers have designed a sleek, exotic celebrity that according to rumour runs a 500 horsepower hydrogen engine. Although hydrogen power is still costly to produce, and Citroen GT is rated to be only a "Blue Green", this is good news in an age where awareness about the environment is heightened. Citroen GT
When we hear the name Citroen and French made car, we don’t think of a wild, exotic car, but we automatically think of a small, box like car that has been voted as the most likely eco friendly. Stereotype? Perhaps, but when it comes to cars, discernment is what teaches us to love certain cars, or avoid some other types.
Citroen GT has that certain Je Ne Sais Quoi that makes a car very appealing. In addition to being elegant, sexy, unique and 100% exotic, it is fun looking and has future car lines in ever feature of its design and styling.
Not a box like pedal powered car
From what we can tell, it runs a Ford V8 which is probably the same motor that usually runs in the Ford GT - one of America’s exotic classic favourites.
The suspicion is that the engine produces approximately 500 horsepower. Initial reports say that Citroen intends to produce 6 Citroen GT, priced at roughly $1.8 million dollars a piece.
But the news about the models Citroen is now testing get even better.
A greener dream
The Citroen GT designers were inspired by a vehicle from the video game Gran Turismo (this according to Joseph Eckhart, member of the Italianizzato Club), and auto engineers executed the idea by designing a real life concept car.
There are rumours that the manufacturers are considering putting in a 789 BHP X4 hydrogen engine with a 6 speed sequential gearbox.
This would truly make the Citroens GT a futuristic green exotic. Although at this stage of their development it takes more energy to produce the hydrogen engines, than the power they make, the emissions are cleaner than those of carbon fuel based models, and therefore greener.
However, more technological advances on the safe and environmentally responsible production of hydrogen fuels need to be done before any hydrogen car is 100% green.
