At such tough times as these, we have to be very careful when it comes to petrol. Every day the cost of oil changes, but to always be on the safe side, we should all save petrol money as much as we can. Five things that will help us save money wasted on petrol are:

  1. Don’t push the breaks when unnecessary.  Did you know that if you decrease the times you push on the breaks you can increase your fuel efficiency up to 20%?  Well yes, this is true.  It isn’t necessary to push the breaks when a car in front of you is stopping when you can easily change lanes.

  2. When you can avoid it, don’t use your car at all.  Prefer to use a bicycle or go on foot.

  3. If you plan to stop somewhere for more than 10 minutes don’t leave your engine running.  This is a way of saving a lot of fuel.

  4. If on the other hand you plan to stop somewhere or just a quick moment, which would be less than 5 minutes, then don’t switch the engine off. For a car to start up again, it will need more fuel than to leave it running for 1-2 minutes.

  5. Some drivers don’t consider that tires that aren’t inflated properly make the car use more fuel too run normally.  Make sure you tires are always inflated properly so that it will save you money on fuel.
