The higher the number, the longer it protects you from the sun.
- Two-in-one: UVB rays cause sunburn, while UVA cause ageing. Ideally your sunscreen should protect you from both types of these harmful sunrays.
- Para-amino benzoic acid (PABA) is a chemical sunscreen that prevents sunburn and protects your skin from the harmful effects of the sun. It’s used in most sunscreen lotions, but some people may be allergic to it. If you’re one of them, ask for a PABA-free lotion.
