Possibly now that you are reading this article you are either looking into one of those traditional huge looking screens similar to your TV, or you`re staring into one of those new, thin flat panel monitors. Well these two are the basic types of PC monitors someone can find in the market nowadays. Read through the article and learn their main differences and how to look after them. 
 
  1. Big Fat Bulky or more politely the CRT Monitor:
    CRT stands for Cathode Ray Tube and basically these monitors are similarly made to the way regular TV’s are built. These monitors in order to generate image they have waves of electrons which gleam into a phosphorescent screen. If you hear someone using the term CRT then you should know that he/she is referring to PC monitors in general.


  2. Thin, Slim & Sexy – Flat Panel Monitor
    Do you remember those calculators with the old LCD calculator? Well you can consider the Flat Panel monitors as their final evolution. Even if since the 1970’s the technological advancements have been many, these Flat Panel monitors work based on the same idea of the LCD calculator screens.
 
Taking Care of your Computer Monitor

 
  • a) It is not suggested to eat or drink near your monitor as they are very “allergic” to liquids or food leftovers

  • b) Do not touch your screen with your fingers particularly if it’s a flat panel one otherwise you can easily cause a damage to it

  • c) Never bring in contact your monitor or any other PC or electronic equipment with magnets

  • d) In any case your screen goes completely blank it is better to check the cable connection instead of start hitting it
